The Mihajlo-Pupin Bridge ( Most Mihajla Pupina ) is a road bridge over the 730 m wide Danube between the districts of Zemun and Borča in the Serbian capital Belgrade . It is the city's second bridge over the Danube after the Pančevo Bridge, which was first built in 1935 and is located around 10 km downstream .

It is named after Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin , an American physicist and writer of Serbian descent, who was born in a village a few kilometers north of the bridge.

The structure is a total of 1,507 m long, including the abutments and the approach bridge on the flat left, northern bank.

The city motorway bridge has three lanes each on structurally separate directional lanes, which are separated from the cycle and footpaths on both sides by concrete guide walls with steel railings. It is illuminated at night.

The main bridge is a cantilevered 362 m long and 29.1 m wide prestressed concrete bridge with haunched hollow boxes , a 172 m wide main opening and two 95 m wide side openings. The rest of the bridge is a plate-beam construction .

The bridge was built by the China Road and Bridge Corporation between 2011 and 2014 after initial delays . The initial cost of € 170 million was 85% financed by the China Exim Bank . The final cost, including road links, was € 260 million.
