Danube bridge Niederranna

The Danube bridge Niederranna connects the villages of Wesenufer (municipality of Waldkirchen am Wesen ) in the district of Schärding in the Innviertel and Niederranna (municipality of Hofkirchen in the Mühlkreis ) in the Rohrbach district of the Mühlviertel . The 65 km bridge is the only Danube bridge in the Upper Danube Valley between Passau and Aschach and connects the B 130  Nibelungen Straße Eferding – Passau with the western Mühlviertel, where the L 587  Ebenhoch Straße leads to Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis Smaller state road connected via Rannariedl and the municipal road to Marsbach .

The bridge, built in 1980, is 319 meters long and 13.5 meters wide. The bridge consists of three spans with spans 91 m, 137 m and 91 m. The open haunched steel composite cross-section has a web spacing of 7.5 m.

The groundbreaking was on October 20, 1978, and on October 17, 1980 it was opened by then Governor Josef Ratzenböck . Before the bridge was built, it was only possible to take the ferry. The bridge cost 80 million schillings (€ 5.7 million) at the time.
