A sleeper suit is a one-piece pajama set , usually with attached socks.

Jersey is used as material, as well as fleece and terry cloth for winter models . A traditional sleeping overall is closed by means of a button strip that runs from the crotch area to the collar . On models available today, a zipper often replaces the button placket. Other configurations such as back zips are rarely found. The drop seat flaps that used to be common in the past are mostly missing today.

Sleepover suits are typically worn by babies and toddlers, especially in winter . In particular, models for older children and adults are much more common in North America than in Europe .
