The tenement house in the Schleißheimerstraße 25 is a protected monument in Munich district Maxvorstadt , the 1879-80 erected the building contractor Josef Brandl on previously undeveloped ground. It consists of a three-story front building and an originally two-story rear building.

history

In 1887 the sculptor and court plasterer Johann Rappa acquired the property on Schleißheimer Straße . In 1888, Anton Lottermann had Anton Lottermann convert the rear building, which around this time also received its architectural sculpture, which has been preserved to this day. In 1895/96 the rear building was increased by one office floor. In 1898/1900 Ludwig Kissling installed a veranda at the rear of the main building. With the installation of three apartments in the attic and the resulting half-height structure above the former eaves in 1936, the original appearance of the facade was changed.

The three storeys of the facade that have been preserved from the construction period are designed in the neo-renaissance style. Two lateral, only slightly protruding risalits frame the three-axis central section. The ground floor stands out through rusticated brickwork. The passage through the main building has a high-quality stucco decoration created by Johann Rappa , which was used to clearly demonstrate the skills of the Rappa & Giobbe company. The walls are decorated with caryatids , scenes from mythology and a Madonna and Child surrounded by angels are depicted on the ceiling. Consoles and medallions with busts are attached to the rear building .
