The Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Nursing Professions is the nursing chamber for the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein . As a corporation under public law , the Nursing Professions Chamber will represent the interests of around 25,000 nursing professionals. According to the law, members are nurses , nurses , child nurses and geriatric nurses . Voluntary memberships are provided for assistant professions in nursing and for trainees.

history

The state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein passed on July 15, 2015 (during the term of office of the Albig cabinet ) the law to establish a chamber for the medical professions in nursing (PflBerErG), which regulates the composition and tasks of the establishment committee and the law on the chamber and the professional jurisdiction for the medical professions in nursing (Pflegeberufekammergesetz - PfBKG), which will be fully valid after the first election to the chamber assembly. The government coalition of the SPD , B'90 / Greens and SSW brought the second care chamber on the way after the state of Rhineland-Palatinate ( Landespflegekammer Rheinland-Pfalz ).

As early as December 2012, the state parliament asked the state government to create the conditions for the establishment of a care chamber. Since then, the establishment process has gone through different stages, such as a representative survey of nurses and the involvement of associations, unions and other parties involved.

In December 2015, Minister Kristin Alheit ( SPD ) appointed the members of the establishment committee. Patricia Drube was elected chairman of the establishment committee on January 19, 2016. She is represented by Frank Vilsmeier. The establishment committee has to hold the election for the first chamber assembly within 30 months. All nurses who are recorded by the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Care must be registered beforehand.

Duties of the establishment committee

The establishment committee consists of 13 members and 13 deputies. Together with the board and three committees (main and finance committee, committee for public relations and for registration / IT) it has several tasks. This includes the establishment of an office, the extensive information of the professional carers about the Nursing Profession Chamber in public events and media as well as the registration of the members for the chamber election.

According to the Rhineland-Palatinate Regional Care Chamber, all medical professional chambers finance the implementation of their tasks through the contributions of their members.

criticism

As of August 2019, over 11,285 participants have signed an online petition against the establishment of a nursing profession in Schleswig-Holstein (in relation to 500 supporters). There were also various protest rallies. Criticisms are above all the compulsory contributions, unnecessary bureaucracy and doubts about the benefit of such a facility for the carers. The protests are coordinated by Daniela Grabowski-Schmidt, head of the works council of the Elmshorn care center Haus Flora.
