The Schloßberg ( 605  m above sea  level ) is located immediately north of the municipality of Höchstädt in the Fichtel Mountains (district of Wunsiedel , Bavaria ). Its highest point consists of dark-colored rhyolite . In the northern area there are sports fields and a community hall with a restaurant, 300 meters to the west there is a sewage treatment plant. From the top of the mountain you have a beautiful view of Thierstein Castle .

Surname

The mountain name Schloßberg, called Schloßhübel in the population, has its origin in a former castle in Unterhöchstädt.
