Angern Castle (Angern an der March)
Angern Castle was a castle in Angern an der March in Lower Austria .
A castle was first mentioned in 1314, but it was destroyed towards the end of the 15th century and rebuilt between 1531 and 1544 as a castle in the Renaissance style . In 1722 the castle passed to the old Bohemian noble family Kinsky , who sold it to Gustav and Wilhelm Löw in 1931 . The castle was destroyed by fire in 1945 and completely demolished in 1968 . Today only a small part of the gate wall is still standing . There is an engraving by Georg Matthäus Vischer of the once magnificent castle .
