While the first official mention of Aspach can be dated back to the year 1067, as Passau, the Canons founded, one of Robertus Aspah be verified only after the 1140th A seat in Aspach is attested since at least 1465. At that time, Wolfgang the Hohentanner sold his residence to the brothers Wilhelm and Heinrich the Dachsberger (Daxberger). However, a Hanns the Dachsberger also sealed in a sales deed from 1439 as the landlord of Aspach, so that it can be assumed that there was both a seat of the Tannberger and the Dachsberger in Aspach. The last Dachsberger woman was Anna Juliana, married Countess von Wartenberg. With it, the Dachsbergers died out on July 3, 1654. They were followed by the Count von Wartenberg, who were related by marriage. Through a marriage of a woman from Wartenberg, Aspach came to the Counts of Alten-Franking, who also owned the Hueb Castle . Since then, the same owners have changed in both residences. 1721 Aspach was a heavily fortified , provided with towers and a moat surrounded castle Related with a number of rural property.

Before the end of manorial rule in 1839, Aspach was sold into private hands. The owner Raschhofer converted the castle into an inn in 1835. This was followed by the following owners: Freiherr von Lerchenfeld, von Prennberg, Countess Rogalla von Preysing and Rudolf Zwink. The latter sold the property to the Dr. Lechner Foundation in 1898, before it later passed into the possession of the Sisters of Mary from Carmel . During the Second World War , Aspach served as a home for evacuees.

Apart from the small pond in front of the building, almost nothing is left of the moated castle. The building of the Kneipp spa, which is run by the Sisters of Mary from the Carmel, was built in 1920 above the old castle. The handsome moated castle and thus part of Aspach's history has disappeared in favor of an unadorned functional building.
