The Bucharest Castle (also mansion Bucha or manor Bucharest ) is a Grade II listed building in the district of Bucharest the municipality imperial palace in Burgenlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the castle is listed as a monument under registration number 094 81227 . It has the address Buchengrund 10 .

history

In 1614 the Breitenbauch family, later renamed Breitenbuch, acquired a castle in Bucha that was built in the 12th century for the Count von Buch . Georg August von Breitenbauch had an existing castle demolished from 1714 to 1718 and instead built the baroque palace that still exists today on the castle grounds . This remained in the possession of the Breitenbuch family until the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945. Today it is privately owned again.

Bucha Castle

The two-storey structure is designed as a two-wing system in the shape of an angled hook , in the corner of which there is a porch. A large arched window is located above the entrance portal, which is decorated with a cartouche. Inside the building there are stucco corner chimneys as well as overhangs and doors painted with banding. The ballroom with fireplace is upstairs, as well as some rooms with stuccoed ceilings.

To the west of the building is a garden framed by low box hedges. The park, designed in the form of the early Baroque, has a pleasure garden laid out in 1757 and a beech corridor. The western terrace-shaped part was redesigned in the 19th century in the form of an English landscape park.
