Bucha is a district of the Kaiserpfalz municipality in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

Bucha is located between Erfurt and Halle (Saale) and on two state roads. The main road in 1215 into the northern Memleben and the national road 214 to the northwestern city Roßleben-Wiehe , district Wiehe . The hilly surroundings are mostly used for agriculture.

history

Bucha, first mentioned in a document on March 8, 1154, was probably created during the Frankish settlement period (6th to 9th centuries). The place was the seat of the county of Buch. The Counts of Buch had a castle and a court here. An old chivalrous, extinct family, the " von Buch " presumably come from the town. From 1614 to 1945 the estate belonged to the von Breitenbauch family .

In May 2004 the 850th anniversary of the town was celebrated.

On July 1, 2009, Bucha was incorporated into the new Kaiserpfalz municipality. The last mayor was Jörg Thiele.

Personalities

Honorary citizen

Erich Röder was made an honorary citizen of Bucha on April 1, 2006 on the occasion of his 50th anniversary with the company. Research has shown that he was one of the longest-serving mayors in Europe and the longest-serving mayors in Germany. Röder was first elected on April 1, 1956. He was elected until July 2008, but resigned from office on January 31, 2007 after more than 50 years of service.
