The small town of Roßleben-Wiehe is a rural community in the Kyffhäuserkreis in the German state of Thuringia . The city was created on January 1, 2019 from the merging of the cities of Roßleben and Wiehe with two other municipalities.

City structure

The city consists of the districts Bottendorf , Donndorf , Garnbach , Hechendorf , Kleinroda , Donndorf Monastery , Langenroda , Nausitz , Roßleben , Schönewerda and Wiehe .

history

As part of the voluntary mergers of the regional reforms in 2018 and 2019, the cities of Roßleben and Wiehe and the communities of Donndorf and Nausitz agreed on a merger on January 1, 2019. Wiehe was a fulfilling community for Donndorf. Nausitz belonged to the Mittelzentrum Artern administrative community , which was also dissolved on January 1, 2019.

In the mayoral election on May 26, 2019 , Steffen Sauerbier (SPD) was elected the first mayor of the new municipality with a turnout of 59.0% with 80.4% of the valid votes. He prevailed against Antje Ruppe (FDP), who received 19.6% of the vote.

traffic

The Unstrutbahn runs through the urban area . The Roßleben and Donndorf (Unstrut) stations are only served irregularly by special trains to Naumburg.
