Location of the community Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth in the Kyffhäuserkreis | ||
Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth is a municipality on the Helme in the Thuringian Kyffhäuserkreis and is located near the city of Artern . The community was formed in 1956 from the villages of Mönchpfiffel and Nikolausrieth .
history
In a register of the tithe of the Hersfeld Abbey ( Hersfeld tithe list ), which was created between 881 and 899, Mönchpfiffel is mentioned as a place of tithe of Bablide im Friesenfeld .
Nikolausrieth in the area of the Golden Aue was first mentioned in 1226 as Novale St. Nicolai in a Walkenried document. JM Schamelius mentions a nunnery in his monastery lexicon from 1733 as founded in 1236 and "ruined" after the Reformation.
A remarkable feature is the fact that the two districts belonged to different churches until 2008. Nikolausrieth was part of the ecclesiastical province of Saxony , while Mönchpfiffel belonged to the Thuringian Church . Since 2009 both have belonged to the newly founded Evangelical Church in Central Germany . This results from the fact that the helmets in this area formed the former border between the Weimar exclave Allstedt and the Prussian province of Saxony .
Mönchspfiffel was a historical monastery as a branch of the Walkenried monastery . From 1920 to 1945 it was a Thuringian state property . Until 1991 it belonged to the VEG and also to the LPG with animal and plant production. 1995 Sale to the Raiffeisen- Agil goods cooperative.
With effect from October 1, 1945, the Mönchpfiffel, which had been in Thuringia until then, was assigned to the Sangerhausen district of the Province of Saxony .
Until its dissolution on January 1, 2019, the community belonged to the Mittelzentrum Artern administrative community , since then the city of Artern has been a fulfilling community for Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth.
