Upper Evil

Church in Oberbösa

A Neolithic burial hut was excavated on the foothills of the Hainleite north of Oberbösa. Bronzes from the Early and Middle Bronze Age have been found near this hut . In the grave complex there were bones of 78 people. Animal bones and subsequent burials were also found .

Oberbösa is first mentioned in a document as Bysaho in 786 . In 839 Emperor Ludwig confirmed that the village of Bösoa had been assigned to the Fulda monastery by his son Ludwig . In 1431 the big bell for the church in Oberbösa was cast. In 1611, 188 inhabitants fell victim to the plague.

The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Weißensee until 1815 and was surrounded by the Blackburg subordination to the south . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Weissensee in the administrative district of Erfurt the province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

The association KULTURdurst.Oberbösa e. V. has been organizing cultural events under the title "Summer Sound" in the "Festival Barn" since 2007.

Bonnrode

Bonnrode was first mentioned in a document on June 17, 983. Between 1122 and 1140 a Benedictine nunnery was founded in Bonnrode. In 1525 Bonnrode was destroyed in the German Peasants' War. Today the monastery Bonnrode exists. It has been run by the Klostergut Bonnrode e. V. manages. The association is committed to the restoration of the building fabric and the cultural use of the monument. Among other things, the historic oven was reconstructed. Furthermore, a rural garden is being built. The association holds three major events a year. Many visitors have already found their way to the monastery property on Men's Day , the summer event and the Open Monument Day . The wooded surroundings of the monastery are also appreciated by hikers and Nordic walkers.
