Blackburg subordination

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Several parts of the area in Northern Thuringia were referred to as the Schwarzburger Unterherrschaft . Since the 14th century they belonged to the possessions of the Counts of Schwarzburg and thus initially to the Grafschaft Schwarzburg . In 1571 this was divided according to the Treaty of Speyer .

At that time the counties Schwarzburg-Sondershausen and Schwarzburg-Frankenhausen in northern Thuringia, which together form the Schwarzburg Unterherrschaft , and the Grafschaft Schwarzburg Oberherrschaft , which was divided into the Counties Schwarzburg-Arnstadt in the west and Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt in the east, were newly created.

With the Stadtilmer Treaty of November 21, 1599, the Schwarzburg territories were redistributed. The west of the subordinate rule came to the county of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen , while the eastern Schwarzburg-Frankenhausen came to the county of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

Associated areas

The offices of Kelbra and Heringen in Northern Thuringia were jointly owned between 1419 and 1815 by the Counts of Schwarzburg (from 1599 Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ) and Counts of Stolberg (from 1706 Stolberg-Roßla ) under the suzerainty of the Albertine Wettins (later Electorate of Saxony ).
