history

Thüringenhausen was first mentioned in 874; the spellings varied in the past between Durinhusen , Doringhusen and Döringhausen . The Lords of Doringhusen were a locally influential noble family, whose best-known representative Heinrich von Doringhusen was canon in Erfurt in the 15th century. Politically, the community belonged to the subordinate rule of the Grafschaft Schwarzburg and was under Graf Günther XL. Protestant in the 16th century. In 1661 there were 91 inhabitants. The church of St. Petri, which dates from the Middle Ages, was renovated in 1693. In 1842 a school apartment was built. The place was administered by the Office Sondershausen or the administrative district Ebeleben. In 1910 there were 211 inhabitants in Thuringia, after the First World War the newly founded state of Thuringia was established and in 1939 there were still 202 inhabitants. As a result, the number of inhabitants continued to decline and fell to below 100 by the fall of the Wall, but then rose again slightly. Thüringenhausen was the smallest community in the Kyffhäuserkreis.

The Thuringian law on the voluntary reorganization of municipalities belonging to the district in 2019 provided for the incorporation into Ebeleben. The law was adopted by the state parliament on September 12, 2019 and came into force on December 31, 2019.
