The historical development of the place goes back to the time of the Franconian rule. The name changed from used in the 8th century Bisaha over Bösaha , Bysa about the used in the 13th century Nedernbesa to this Niederbösa. Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the principality Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .
