Borxleben is a municipality in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .
geography
The Borxleben community is located east of the Kyffhauser on the border with Saxony-Anhalt . Borxleben is 2 km east of Ichstedt , where the Kyffhäuser cycle path begins and ends.
history
At the beginning of the 9th century Borxleben is mentioned in a document as Burcheslebo in a list of the goods of the Hersfeld Monastery, built by Archbishop Lullus († 786) of Mainz . Kahl proves in his book 775/786. Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
From June 30, 1994 until its dissolution on January 1, 2019, the municipality belonged to the administrative community Mittelzentrum Artern , since then the city of Artern has been a fulfilling municipality for Borxleben.
