history

The village was first mentioned in a document as early as the period 822–842. The origins of the St. Fabian and Sebastian church go back to the year 874. The early settlement by Germanic tribes ( fishing and warning ) as well as Christian proselytizing were decisive processes for humans and animals in this area. Transport-related development later played a crucial role in the development of production in this area. The district was and is characterized by agriculture. The farmers had to join an LPG in the 1950s and found new forms of agricultural work after the fall of the Wall . The church of St. Fabian and Sebastian , built from natural stones, characterizes the village. Parts of it date back to 874.

Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the principality Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .
