Wenigenehrich is a district of the city of Großenehrich in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .
geography
The cluster village of Wenigenehrich is located west of Großenehrich in a hollow in the arable hills of the Thuringian Basin . The floors are made of weathered shell limestone . The Rinnigbach flows through the village . It joins the Bennebach in front of Großenehrich to form the Mühlbach , which flows into the Helbe south of Bliederstedt .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document on September 27, 979. The agricultural place was always associated with Großenehrich. The church was built in 1693 and renovated from 1987 to 1992. Until 1918 the place belonged to the rule of the principality Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .
On July 1, 1950, the place was incorporated into the city of Großenehrich.
Attractions
The Protestant branch church is a neo-Gothic hall church with a west tower and a strongly recessed polygonal choir made of regular limestone and sandstone masonry . It was built after the previous medieval church had been demolished in 1884/85. It received a uniform, neo-Gothic interior.
