Special location

The village church of Wenigenehrich has a steeple visible from afar on a hill on the outskirts of the village.

history

A first church was probably built in the 12th century.

The tower was demolished after 1763 because it was in disrepair. The nave was dismantled a hundred years later on March 3, 1884 and then rebuilt and consecrated as a neo-Gothic hall church with a west tower and polygonal choir .

Around 1984 the church was closed due to defects. The roof and masonry on the ship and tower were damaged. Defects in the foundation and many openings in the masonry had reduced the strength of the mortar . The renovation that began in 1996 has been completed.
