Mönchpfiffel is a district of the municipality Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

Mönchpfiffel and the partner district Nikolausrieth are close together in the Goldene Aue . You have access to the state road 1218. Further north, the federal motorway 38 runs through the area. In the valley of the helmets and at the beginning of the Unstrut lowland there are fertile arable soils.
history
The village was first mentioned in a document between 830 and 850. The core community assumes 881 and 899. Mönchspfiffel is a historical monastery property . It was once a branch of the Walkenried monastery . It was monks who once drained the wet floodplain. From 1920 to 1945 it was the state property of Thuringia. Until 1991 it belonged to the VEG and also to the LPG with animal production and plant cultivation. In 1995 it was sold to the Raiffeisen-Agil Warengenossenschaft . With effect from October 1, 1945, the Mönchpfiffel, which had been in Thuringia until then, was assigned to the Sangerhausen district of the Province of Saxony . Now it belongs to Thuringia again. In 1956 the community Mönchpfiffel-Nikolausrieth was formed from the villages Mönchpfiffel and Nikolausrieth. In 2007, 200 people lived in the village. The church belonged to the Thuringian church administration.
