Möser Church

As church Moser is evangelical church of the village Möser in Saxony-Anhalt called.

history

The church was built in a six-month construction period in 2002 on the site of a simple previous building from 1979. The modest predecessor building from the time of the GDR no longer met the more modern requirements and turned out to be too small.

architecture

The new building was based on the shape of an ark . The eastern end of the nave is in the form of a ship's bow. The free-standing bell tower that was built later can be interpreted as a towering stern. There are three bells in it. Wood and glass dominate as building materials. The project was planned by ARGE Stern + Schubert .

Interior design

The interior is also similar to a ship. The wooden roof construction gives the impression of a ship's hull with planks and frames . The interior is functionally designed so that it can also serve as a community center. Partition walls, which can be inserted if required, allow the division into smaller rooms.

The nave is adorned by a large stained glass window showing a rainbow and a dove of peace with a green branch in its beak over stormy water. The window design symbolizes Noah's salvation. Sacrament items , altar and an electric organ were taken over from the previous building.

The immediate vicinity of the church is characterized by pine trees. Opening the large glass doors enables this environment to be included in the interior of the church in summer.
