The Drackendorf castle stood until 1946 in Drackendorf , today the city of Jena in Thuringia .

history

The village of Drackendorf with almost 700 inhabitants has been incorporated into the city of Jena since 1994. It is located in a side valley below the Lobdeburg ruins .

Between 1776 and 1820, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749–1832) stayed more than 30 times at the Drackendorf estate and castle with the von Ziegesar family, friends. He wrote the poem Bergschloß here in 1802 with a view of the Lobdeburg and Silvie von Ziegesar .

The former manor

The so-called Niederhof on the left side of the Hungerbach was an economic basis with 750 hectares including the Vorwerk on the Wöllmisse for the following listed owners:

The owners of the Drackendorf manor were: the Puster family, von Gerstenbergk, since 1638 Beer, since 1670 von Schönfeld, since 1697 von Brand, since 1716 von Griesheim, since 1745 von Ziegesaar and since 1836 von Helldorf, who owned the estate until the beginning of the 20th century possessed.

The dead and living inventory was taken over by the state in 1946 and subjected to land reform , whereby the landed gentry's castle was demolished and the economy was given over to land reform in accordance with the then applicable laws.

Drackendorf today

The areas as the financial basis for the property are mostly built on. The city of Jena has grown to Drackendorf. Shopping centers have been built right into the village. The university clinic is on the doorstep. What remained of the past:
