The church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church of St. Peter and Paul is located in the Bethenhausen community in the Greiz district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Pölzig, Dorna, Röpsen and Roschütz in the Gera parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In 1771 the old chapel was demolished , but nothing was reported about its past. The simple little successor was built as a church in 1777. The church tower with a baroque triumphal arch , which was built in 1722, was surrounded by the nave. The windows and doors were designed rectangular.

The building

The nave with a flat ceiling and saddled high turret has a baroque dome . In the chancel there is a separate small room as a parish hall .

This church is an example of the decay of Thuringian churches from bygone times.
