The Groß Sägwitz Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Solnej ) is the ruin of a castle in today's Polish Solna , Gmina Kobierzyce (Koberschütz municipality), Powiat Wrocławski (Breslau district).
In the Middle Ages there was a moated castle at the site of today's castle . Heinrich von Heugel had this converted into a palace in the late renaissance style in 1614 . Different wall thicknesses and offsets show that the walls of the previous castle were still used. The floor plan is rectangular and jumps back a little in the northwest. In the baroque era , the complex was expanded with the octagonal tower in the northeast corner. The building is also diversified and asymmetrically loosened up by the portal and window frames , especially in the roof zone. The castle was released for demolition in 1940.
