The Gmina Kobierzyce is a rural municipality in the powiat Wrocławski of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . Their seat is the village of the same name ( German Koberwitz ).
geography
The municipality is located in Lower Silesia in the Silesian Lowland. The southern outskirts of Wroclaw form the northern border of the rural municipality. The eponymous place is about 15 kilometers south of the city center.
history
After the political change of 1989, the community experienced a rapid upswing due to its proximity to the flourishing economic location of Wroclaw and the A4 motorway . According to the municipality, more than 1.6 billion euros have now been invested by foreign companies and around 6,000 jobs have been created - especially in the Węzeł Bielański industrial park in Bielany Wrocławskie near the A4 with the huge Bielany center with many construction, furniture and hypermarkets . In the village of Biskupice Podgórne, LG.Philips LCD built a plant for liquid crystal screens in 2005 , from which the municipality, including the newly emerging suppliers, expected 20,000 new jobs by 2015.
In 2016, LG Chem started building an electric car traction battery factory .

- Neo-baroque chateau in Biskupice Podgórne with an extensive chateau park
- Half-timbered mansion in Bielany Wrocławskie from the 16th century
- Late Romanesque St. Michael's Church ( kościół św. Michała Archanioła ) in Tyniec nad Ślęzą from the 13th century with Baroque furnishings and a tower from the 16th century. In front of the church there is a statue of the Bohemian national saint John of Nepomuk from 1733
- Late Gothic Church of the Assumption ( kościół Wniebowzięcia Najświętszej Marii Panny ) in Tyniec Mały from 1493–1516 with a crooked, low bell tower.

Kobierzyce is on the European route 67 . The next junction to the A4 motorway is ten kilometers away.
The former Kobierzyce railway station is located at the junction of the former Kobierzyce – Piława Górna railway line (other stations in Szczepankowice, Budziszów and Pustków Wilczowski) from the Wrocław – Jedlina-Zdrój railway line, which is still partially used for freight transport (other stations in Bielany Wrocławice and Wustierzbów, Domaszów Żurawski).
