The palace's valuable furniture fell victim to looting and destruction after the end of the Second World War . The castle was used as refugee accommodation until 1949. The building was then converted into a cultural center. The four lounges on the first floor were converted into a large hall for this purpose.

Until 2009, the renovated castle was the seat of the Kunraus municipal administration and the Klötze administrative association . Today the castle houses the nature experience center with an eco school; The carrier is the Zweckverband Drömling. The tourist association Jeetze-Ohre-Drömling has its office and a small museum about the history of the Drömling. In the Green Hall ceremonies are held and the other rooms can be rented for events and private parties. The clubs from Kunrau and the surrounding area also use the castle for their events.

Furnishing

The tower of the castle is 22.5 meters high. From the interior design, stucco ceilings in the entrance area, a bay window with a view of the foyer and wood carvings on the balustrade have been preserved to this day.
