history

The castle was built in 1740 but was rarely inhabited by its owners, the Lords of Fourmestraux. It housed the very extensive Van Der Cruisse de Waziers library, which was destroyed by German troops during the First World War .

In the courtyard of the former farm buildings of the castle is a polygonal pigeon tower , which was built in 1761 and since December 1988 as a monument historique under monument stands.

Since the castle park was converted into an 18-hole golf course, the castle building has served as a clubhouse for the local golf club.
