James Ramsay
Sir James Maxwell Ramsay KCMG KCVO CBE DSC (born August 27, 1916 in Hobart , Tasmania , † May 1, 1986 in Broadbeach , Queensland ) was an Australian officer and politician .
Life
He graduated from the Royal Australian Naval College in Jervis Bay in 1933 . He had an eminent Marinie career and served on British and Australian ships in the Indian, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during World War II . He achieved the rank of commodore .
From 1974 to 1977 he was Deputy Governor of Western Australia . He was Governor of Queensland from April 22, 1977 to July 21, 1985 .
