Thomas Goodwin

Sir Thomas Herbert John Chapman Goodwin KCB KCMG DSO (born May 24, 1871 in Kandy , Ceylon , † September 29, 1960 in Oxford , England ) was a British doctor and officer.

Goodwin was born to a British Army surgeon and an Australian mother. He was taught at Newton College in England and studied medicine at St. Mary's Hospital in London , where he graduated with Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians in 1891.

He became a lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps and was stationed in British India , where he served in the Northwest Frontier Province from 1897 to 1898 and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order .

Goodwin was Governor of Queensland from July 13, 1927 to April 7, 1932 .
