Broadbeach is a suburb of the Gold Coast in Queensland , Australia . During the 2001 census, Broadbeach had 5,514 residents. It is on the road between Nerang and Broadbeach Road. To the south, the suburb is bordered by Mermaid Beach .

Broadbeach is home to the Jupiters Hotel and Casino , Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center, and Oasis Shopping Center . In the adjacent neighborhood of the suburb is Broadbeach Waters and the Pacific Fair Shopping Center .

The residential buildings that characterize the suburb are Sofitel Gold Coast , The Wave , The Oracle , Beach Haven , Niecon Plaza , the Hi-Ho Motel , Belle Maison and Bel Air and Air on Broadbeach .

Broadbeach has two large shopping centers that house a large number of shops and restaurants.

Pacific Fair , the second largest mall on the Goldcoast, is located on Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach Waters, not far from the Gold Coast Highway exit .

Pacific Fair has more than 300 stores. In January 2014 its renovation began for planned 670 million AUD , the goal is to build 120 additional land deals. It is the largest mall in Queensland and the fourth largest in Australia (2016).

The Oasis shopping center is another large shopping mall. It houses about 100 shops and a Woolworths . The Oasis shopping center , which is on the pedestrian zone of Victoria Avenue, is mainly home to restaurants.

Leisure and tourism activities

The annual Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival was first held in 2002. It attracts numerous people every year.

The Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club monitors the beach in the center of the suburb. The suburb's Australian football club plays in the AFL Queensland State League . Other sports clubs are the Broadbeach Lawn Bowls Club , the Broadbeach Surfschool , which offers surfing lessons. There is also the Gold Coast City Council Library Service in Broadbeach.

Broadbeach has roads that allow access to other parts of the city. These are the Gold Coast Highway , which runs along the entire city along the coast, and Hooker Boulevard .

A 1,300 meter long railway connects the Oasis shopping center with the Conrad Jupiters Casino . The train runs seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Gold Coast Oceanway offers bicycle and pedestrian paths along the beach.

During the 2016 census, 5,514 people lived in the village. Of these, 49.4% are female and 50.6% are male. The average age of Broadbeach residents was 41 years. This puts her age a little above the Australian average of 38 years. Only 51.0% of the residents are Australians. Larger minorities are New Zealanders with 7.0%, English with 4.7%, Indians with 1.7%, Brazilians 1.6% and Japanese 1.4% of the population.
