From the 14th century to 1914, Meyenburg Castle was owned by the von Rohr family, who, due to their wealth, were one of the dominant Prignitz families. Contrary to the common definition, it is not a castle in the narrower sense, but a palatial mansion that is lavish for the region . The two-storey brick building consists of two wings and has the shape of an L. The structure includes parts of the medieval city fortifications of Meyenburg and dates from the 15th century, the rest of the buildings date back to the 16th century. The building was completely redesigned in 1865-66 by the Berlin master builder Friedrich Adler in the style of the North German Renaissance, which is particularly evident in the facade design of the gable. Renewed renovations took place in 1914. The renovation and repair in the years 1996-2002 restored the condition of 1866. Today the castle is used as a fashion museum, castle museum and public library. The castle and the castle park are listed.

Castle Park

Today's park goes back to an arrangement by the Berlin court gardener Fink in 1868, which over the years became overgrown and was restored in 1997. The park is bounded in the east by the Stepenitz .
