history

The complex stands on the remains of a moated castle from the 12th century.

It was in the hands of the Karasse , which came from Coswig (Saxony) ( Karrasburg ). Later the Ziegler family belonged to the owners . She was very wealthy and also owned the Lockwitz Castle . The Ziegler family is also associated with Gut Gamig . In 1511 the Alnpeck family bought the castle. During this time, it was converted into a Renaissance castle. The Alnpecks were very influential in the area. You can still find her coat of arms in the old Leuben church today. In 1693, under Hans von Bose , it was converted into a rural baroque style . The castle only received its tower in 1870.

In 1945 the last owner was expropriated and apartments were set up in the castle. In 1960 a fire damaged parts of the facility. In the 1980s, club rooms were housed in Nickern Castle.

Today it is privately owned again. Some rooms can be rented for private events.

In 2014 the "Messer Klinge Stahl" fair took place for the second time.
