Peychaud Castle (2014)

The Peychaud Castle in Ambarès-et-Lagrave , a French town in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine , was built in the 1680s and rebuilt in the 19th century. In 1966, the castle was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as a monument historique .

The castle was built for the Marquis de Fayet, councilor at the Parliament of Bordeaux . In order to drain the swampy soil, specialists from the Netherlands were commissioned to build drainage channels.

The elongated residential building consists of only one ground floor. The fronton above the portal was renewed. The two ends of the main building are closed by two rectangular pavilions with high pyramid-like roofs.

The round towers on the garden side were added later.
