The lost moated castle Rohrawiesing (also called Rorerwising , Rohrwiesing or just Wiesing ) was in the municipality of Kallham in the Grieskirchen district of Upper Austria .

history

Rohrawiesing was the headquarters of the Rohrer to Wiesing that in Bavaria (with Castle tube in Rottal ) and in the ( federal province with the castle Rohr im Kremstal were wealthy).

Hans Rohrer zu Wiesing was Vogt of the Ranshofen Abbey and is mentioned around 1299. In 1335 Heinrich Rohrer zu Wiesing married Kunigunde Perger von Clam . Caspar von Rohrwiesing was the castle keeper of Schärding from 1421 to 1423 . A Wilhelm Rohrer died in Andorf near Schwendkirchen in 1467. In 1500 Stephan and Kaspar von Rohrwiesing sold two Sölden in Rohrawieseing to Wolf Melabrunner. Katharina Rohrer married Andreas Kolnpöck zu Ottsdorf in 1509 .

In 1597 Rohrawieseing came into the possession of Dietmar von Grienthaler and was united with the rule of Riedau . After an attack in 1600, the aristocratic estate was already sold. Around 1776 only the pond was left.

Rohrawiesing today

The seat is said to have been located about 1.7 kilometers southeast of Riedau. Remnants of the pond should still be present; next to it is the former Meierhof , the vulgar name of the property is Wiesing .
