Steninge Castle
Steninge Castle , about 30 km north of Stockholm near Märsta in the Swedish province of Uppland , is a small castle in the Italian-influenced Baroque style .
The two-storey castle with four single-storey wooden side wings was built between 1694 and 1698 according to a design by the architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. J. built for Count Carl Gyllenstierna . It shows influences of the Italian baroque, as manifested in the villas of Andrea Palladio , and is unique in the Swedish baroque architecture.
