The Totzenbach castle lies in the village Totzenbach in the municipality Kirchstetten in the district of Sankt Polten-Land . The moated castle , which had already fallen into ruin , was rebuilt from 1972.

history

The former castle was first mentioned in 1147 as the seat of the Totzenbach family. In the years 1588 to 1594 the complex was expanded to a renaissance castle . In the middle of the 19th century the east and south wings were removed. As a result, the castle fell into disrepair .
