Castle Bridge (Hanover)
The Schloßbrücke is a bridge over the Leine in Hanover . It leads from the Leibnizufer to the western forecourt of the Leineschloss . The single-arch sandstone bridge was possibly built according to plans by Girolamo Sartorio in 1686 by Crotogni, Fehr and Heinsohn.
The name "Schloßbrücke" was mistakenly transferred to the Leintor Bridge to the west around 1950 .
The castle bridge was built after the southern castle forecourt was exposed. The passage was open to the public until well into the 20th century, today it can be entered, but the entrance to the Leineschloss is closed.
