Kang Min-soo (born February 14, 1986 in Goyang , Gyeonggi-do ) is a South Korean football player .

Career

Kang began his professional career at the age of 18 with the Chunnam Dragons . A year later, the then coach Huh Jung-moo brought him into the first team, with which he won the Korean Cup competition in 2007. The following season he played for local rivals Jeonbuk Motors , before moving to Jeju United a year later , where he formed central defense with Cho Yong-hyung during the 2009 season . With his performances he aroused the interest of Cha Bum-kun , the trainer of Suwon Bluewings , who signed him in early 2010.

Kang Min-soo played his first international match for the senior team of South Korea on June 2, 2007 against the Netherlands. Under national coach Pim Verbeek he later took part in the Asian Cup. He also played at the 2008 Olympic Football Tournament in Beijing. In the Asian qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he played in nine games.
