The Schlosskirche Fischbach was built in the years 1756–1758 and is located in the ensemble with the castle in the center of the town of Fischbach , a district of the town of Ebern in the Haßbergen . Today it serves as a parish church for the Protestant parish of Eyrichshof .

For the inauguration of this church, Paulus Immler composed the psalm cantata “How lovely are your apartments, Mr. Zebaoth”, which will be performed again in 2011, for the 250th anniversary of the church consecration, from newly edited sheet music.

architecture

The white plastered classicist hall church has a three-axis facade, a truncated gable with lateral volutes, above which a polygonal bell tower with an onion dome rises. The five-axis, two-storey sides are bordered by wide slate pilaster strips at the corners, the central axis with the main portal is marked by two narrow pilaster strips and accentuated by a round gable with inlaid cartouches and a finial-like top.

The church has a surrounding two-storey wooden gallery with an integrated patronage box, which is lavishly decorated with colored coats of arms and gilded rocailles-like ornaments. The altar, the pulpit with a playful rococo crown and the organ with the original organ front are arranged one above the other at the front of the room. They are also decorated in the Rococo style with gilded ornaments. A four-part hourglass is attached to the pulpit, which is said to have served to end the sermons on time.
