The Sebaldsbrück Castle Park with manor house and estate is located in Bremen in the Hemelingen district, Sebaldsbrück district .

history

The fourth archbishop's saddle yard from the Middle Ages became a noble estate from 1683 and came into the possession of Dr. Gerhard Meier. In 1843 it became the estate of the Adami family. Senator Johann Helfrich Adami built a mansion in the neo-Gothic Tudor style in the park , which was soon referred to as Sebaldsbrück Castle and the green area as Sebaldsbrück Castle Park .

In 1903 the manor house was transformed into a restaurant in the public park by the farmer A. Meyer. The two large rectangles made of rows of trees and the playground in the back for various events are still well preserved from this time.

The property came to the city of Bremen in 1928 via the automobile manufacturer Hansa-Lloyd-Werke . According to plans by horticultural director Paul Freye , a redesign took place from 1930 and in 1931 the park was inaugurated with an opening ceremony. A tree population that is now old has trees that are up to 150 years old today.

Around 1999 the horticultural authority in Bremen laid out lush herbaceous beds , which every year transform the park into a blooming, fragrant sea of colors. As part of a study of the growth behavior of different varieties and plant communities , an extension soon took place. A special feature is the "Insect Hotel", a showcase in which materials such as straw, reeds and wood are offered as nesting facilities for a wide variety of insect species.

Next to the park is the Schlossparkbad , a public family swimming pool with indoor and outdoor pools with a 50-meter swimmer pool and ancillary facilities as well as park-like meadows.
