The Schnellert is a pseudo-dolmen in the forest of the same name between Berdorf and Mullerthal near Echternach in Luxembourg .

The pseudo- dolmen is a natural, coincidentally formed structure made of stone blocks, reminiscent of a dolmen, as it is known from various regions ( Cova d'en Genís , Dolmen von Busnela , Dolmen von Chevresse , Dolmen von Solwaster , Pierre au Rey , La Table des Géants in Reinhardsmunster and L'autel des Druides in Pfaffenheim (both in the Haut-Rhin department and Sparossino in Liguria ).

A rectangular niche about 50 centimeters wide, two meters long and one meter high is closed on three sides by boulders. On the fourth side it leaves a narrow entrance open. The niche is covered by a huge stone. During the first excavation in 1908 by Nicolas van Werveke , the structure was called a dolmen. A second excavation took place in 2000. In the pseudo-dolmen were around 2700 BC. A grown man and a child of about 12 years are buried. Apparently the dolmen shape inspired the Neolithic people to use the place.
