VEB chocolate and packaging machines Dresden
VEB Chocolate and Packaging Machines Dresden , also known as Schokopack , was created in 1950 through the union of mechanical engineering companies from the Dresden metropolitan area.
Emergence
The firms
- Julius Große , Lohmen (founded in 1871, mill construction)
- Maschinenfabrik Richard Gäbel (founded in 1888, from 1947 VEB NAGEMA Spezialmaschinen Dresden and from 1948 VEB Manag-Werk Dresden, machines for paper goods as well as food and beverages)
- Special machine and wax paper factory Otto Hänsel , Freital (1919)
- Spezialmaschinenfabrik Max Loesch , Dresden (1919, machines for chocolate and confectionery production)
- Special machine factory Ernst Bernstein , Dresden (1920, textile machines)
were combined in 1950 to form the VEB Schokopack.
The high-rise Breitscheidstrasse 48 in Dresden , built in the early 1960s, belonged to VEB Schokopack .
NAGEMA
In 1972 the VEB Schokopack and the VEB Tabakuni (predecessor company Universelle , cigarette machines ) were merged to form VEB Verpackungsmaschinenbau Dresden . This in turn was the lead company of the Nagema combine until 1990 .
