Schoondijke is a district of the municipality Sluis in the Dutch province of Zeeland . 1,430 inhabitants live in the town on the N253 and N61 (as of January 1, 2017).
history
In the Middle Ages the place was also called "Vulendike", "Sconendica" and "Sconendike". Schoondijke was heavily bombed during World War II. After the war the place got the straight streets and existing architecture.
Attractions
One of the sights is the listed Hulsters Mill. The windmill has been owned by the De Hulster family since 1854. It was in operation until 1963. In 1994 the mill was completely restored.
