The Schottenhof (actually: Sigmundshof ) is a destination in the Vienna Woods on the mountainous western edge of Vienna . It is located on a hilltop of Amundsenstraße between the 14th and 17th district (which joins the Höhenstraße further north ) near the border with Lower Austria at 382  m above sea level. A. and takes its name from the Wiener Schottenstift , the owner of the farm.

The farm was built in 1840 by order of Abbot Sigismund Schultes as a house for the forest ranger of the Schottenwald , the monastic forest area between Hütteldorf and Dornbach. First it was called Taferlhof , later called Sigmundshof after its builder ; in the vernacular, however, the name Schottenhof has established itself .

There is a restaurant on the street and behind it a large riding stables that specialize in children's courses and animal-assisted education for the disabled. In addition, the building complex still houses the Schottenstift forest administration.

The building was last extensively renovated in 2014/15 and expanded with a modern extension. Since June 2015 the restaurant in the building has been taken over and operated with a new profile under the name "Chalet Moeller".

From the parking lot in front of the restaurant or the bus stop of line 43B, numerous city hiking trails lead to the surrounding mountains, such as the Heuberg (464 m) and the Jubiläumswarte (480 m) in the east (towards Vienna) and north and west to the Dahaberg (507 m), to the Hotel Sophienalpe (477 m) and to the Exelberg (517 m).
