Inclined position describes the alignment of an object to a horizontal or vertical (perpendicular) reference system or the relative position between individual objects. In vehicles inclination is the inclination of an object about its longitudinal axis (roll angle) with respect to the normal or rest position , the angle is called skew angle , respectively.

When turning flight of aircraft is determined by the bank of centrifugal force counteracted. The vector sum of weight and centrifugal force must have the same direction as the dynamic lift generated by the wings .

In the case of ships, the inclination is called heeling .

Two-wheelers

On two-wheelers , banking is a necessary part of the cornering maneuver. In the case of a two-wheeler, the vector sum of weight and centrifugal force must point from the center of gravity to the line connecting the contact points of both wheels on the ground. The inclination depends on the curve radius and the speed . The higher the speed and the tighter the curve, the greater it is. The lean angle can be influenced by the steering angle and the speed ( supporting gas ) of the motorcycle.
