It is located in a small alley east of the Quedlinburg market square. The Schuhmachergildehaus , which is also a listed building , is adjacent to the west and Schuhhof 2 to the east .
Architecture and history
It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a craftsman's house and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The small two-storey half - timbered house has half-timbered forms from around 1550, windboards covered with clay, and is the oldest surviving building in the alley. Other details name the builder Gabriel Goldfuß , which would mean that it was built around 1637. The shop hatches on the windows, which served as sales areas and were common during the construction period, are remarkable.
Predecessor buildings are known from the 13th century and were mentioned as casae sive domus sutorum . The St. Nicholas Church was at this time of ten small houses in this area of interest.
