The house at Schulinstrasse 19

The house at Schulinstrasse 19 (until after 1995 Hauptstrasse 19 , previously house number 25) is a listed building in the heart of the Lower Franconian Prichsenstadt .

history

The site of today's property at Schulinstraße 19 was already built on in the 16th century. At that time, Hans Reichert owned the house and operated his wheelwright shop there . A profiled door frame in the rear building is reminiscent of what was probably the first house at this point. Probably even the upper floor was only added to the existing ground floor. The property was probably destroyed in the Thirty Years War .

At the beginning of the 18th century, the then owner of the property, the butcher Hans Hayd, who immortalized himself on a lintel with the crossed meat cleavers and the monogram "HHM", had the house rebuilt. The butcher's shop on the premises was shared between two master butchers in 1734. A certain dehydrator also ran a shop there. In 1744 Dörrer was the sole owner of the property.

description

The house at Schulinstraße 19 is classified as a historical building by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments . Underground remains of previous buildings are listed as ground monuments . It is also part of the Prichsenstadt old town ensemble . The house is connected at right angles to a barn and the inner courtyard is covered with a tented roof . The house is a two-storey saddle roof building , eaves facing Schulinstrasse, with half-timbering on the upper floor.

A special feature is the half-square bay window on the upper floor. It towers over the corner of Schulinstrasse and the former north gate and ends with a French hood . The southeast corner of the house was bevelled for the bay window. The ground floor has windows with drilled frames from the construction period, the front door has a narrow skylight . A cartouche of foliage in the door lintel indicates the year of construction and provides information about the builder. Above this is the coat of arms of the Margraves of Ansbach.

The upper floor was originally plastered, today the half-timbered structure is exposed. The elements of the framework are formed by wall-high window stems, next to them are St. Andrew's crosses . The framework is rarely braced, but there are some K-braces. The southern part of the house has a basement, with the basement running parallel to the first. A pig pen in the inner courtyard with the inscription "IIW 1796" refers to the time of construction.
