Ahrain School Museum

The Ahrain School Museum is located in Ahrain in the Essenbach market in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . It was opened in July 2012 and is sponsored by a non-profit association . The museum documents German school history in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The big school room

The museum is set up in the vacant classrooms of the Ahrain primary school . The focus of the museum's educational work is the development of teaching units for historical school lessons in various subjects. Historical lessons in German script ( Sütterlin , Old German script ), arithmetic, music, fairy tales / reading, drawing and religion or the use of quill pens and steel pens are offered .

There is a small collection with historical school books, wall and display boards, maps, didactic showcases for nature and local history lessons, with samples for handicraft lessons or historical work materials such as slate, pencil and chalk.
