history

Schulzendorf Castle, owned by the Pfuels until 1837

The place was first mentioned in 1375, but celebrated its 675th anniversary in 2012, which suggests that it was founded in 1337. (Both pieces of information are available without further explanation on the municipality's website.) From 1450 to 1837 Schulzendorf was owned by the von Pfuel family , who also had Schulzendorf Castle built.

The village of Möglin, which emerged from the Möglin manor , belonged to Schulzendorf until 1949. After that it was an independent municipality until 1997, today it belongs to Reichenow-Möglin .

The Schulzendorf Dance and Wind Orchestra (TBOS) has existed since 1952.

At the end of 1997 Schulzendorf lost its status as an independent municipality and has been a district of Wriezen since then.

Schulzendorf train station

Schulzendorf station, 2009

Schulzendorf station on the Wriezener Bahn was opened in 1898. Although the railway line runs past the site for less than a kilometer, the train station was built three kilometers southwest of the site in order to simultaneously develop other villages in the area.

“Bahnhof Schulzendorf” was also used as a name for the location, which included the station and the few surrounding buildings. Today this area belongs to the inhabited part of the municipality Marienberg.

Since the place name was not clear, the station was named "Schulzendorf (Kr. Oberbarnim)". When the district was dissolved in 1952, the station was called "Schulzendorf (Kr. Bad Freienwalde)". When this district was also dissolved in 1993, the station was called "Schulzendorf (near Wriezen)".

In 1998, passenger traffic on the route was stopped and the station closed. The line was officially shut down in 1999, but remained passable and has been used by an association in Sternebeck since 2003 , which is planning to operate a museum railway here. In 2016, the association began to repair the station.
